I'm strong on the surface, not all the way through...
...I've never been perfect, but neither have you. Cody sighed as his mother asked him for the tenth time in the past five minutes if he was sure he didn’t need anything. He was setting up the rec room downstairs in his parents place for the movie night he had planned with Tomas. He had a large stack of movies to choose from, there was a pizza and the fridge in the corner was well stocked with other snacks and drinks. He was really looking forward to it. He felt as if he and his BFFL hadn’t had much time to hang out recently. Honestly, Cody couldn’t remember the last time he and Tomas had had a chance to just sit and talk. He knew they wouldn’t get much movie watching done, they never did. Movie nights were more like eat until you get sick while talking about whatever’s been going on nights. Cody had been looking forward to that night all week. He checked his phone for any messages he may have missed one last time. He and Tomas had made up a phone-off policy whenever they had their movie nights. If there was an emergency involving the Hartmans, they knew where Tomas was and could call the house. But, their cell phones remained off.
He walked over to the refrigerator after his mother went back upstairs and pulled out one of the pints of ice cream. He grabbed a sthingy from the drawer in the small kitchenette and went back over to the couch. Tomas would be there at any time; but, Cody wasn’t going to wait on the ice cream anymore. It was calling out to him. He pulled his legs up onto the couch, sitting Indian-style and opened the pint of ice cream. He’d just put a sthingyful of the mint-chocolate chip flavored treat when he saw Tomas walk into the room from the stairs. He smiled brightly and said, “Hi, Tomi.” tag;; tomas word count;; 318 ooc;; hi!

Even the best fall down sometime…
…Even the wrong words seem to rhyme. Tomas finished his chores for the weekend like promised and went up to his room to get the bag he’d packed. Then, he went over to Cody’s place. His mother greeted him warmly, hugging him tightly. He just kind of stood there, never having gotten used to that. He smiled when she let go of him and he took his bag up to Cody’s bedroom. He smiled slightly to himself seeing the familiar band posters that littered the other teen’s walls. Then, he went down to the rec room where they always watched movies. Once the door shut at the base of the stairs, nobody else came down which left Cody and Tomas free to talk about anything and everything without fear of being overheard. He shut the door before walking out into the rec room. “Hi, Tomi.” Tomas smiled at Cody and said, “Hey, I see you got into the ice cream without me.” He pouted dramatically before going over to the fridge to get his own thing of ice cream. He grabbed a sthingy before sitting down on the couch, tucking his feet up like Cody’s were. “God, it feels like forever since we’ve talked. What’s new with you?” Cody and Tomas never really kept secrets from each other. The only things Tomas wouldn’t tell Cody were anything someone else asked him to keep secret. He wouldn’t betray someone else’s trust like that.tag;; Cody word count;; idk, my counter's not counting XD ooc;;

...I've never been perfect, but neither have you. A smile crossed the teen’s features when a pout crossed his friend’s. “Sorry, it just called to me,” he replied laughing lightly. As Tomas got his own ice cream, Cody started the first movie he’d put in the DVD player. He wasn’t even sure what movie it was. He had just picked one at random. He smiled again before eating another sthingyful of his favorite ice cream as Tomas sat down on the couch next to him. He laughed at the other boy’s statement about it being so long since they’d talked. “I know, it’s like you’ve deserted me.” Cody pouted playfully before smiling and eating more of the ice cream. He poked at the ice cream with his sthingy a few times before saying, “I, uh…I had a small encounter with Alex.” Tomas knew all about the odd relationship Cody had with the older boy. He smiled sadly at Tomas before looking down at the pint of ice cream in his hands. “I gave him my new number.” tag;; tomas word count;; ooc;; hi!

Even the best fall down sometime…
…Even the wrong words seem to rhyme. “Cody…” Tomas sighed as he rested his thing of ice cream on his knee. He hated seeing his friend being hurt by some guy, who in Tomas’s opinion, wasn’t worth it. He didn’t see whatever it was that Cody saw in Alex. He sighed again as he sat there, trying to think of what he wanted to say. He wanted his friend to feel better, but he didn’t know how to help when Cody was opening himself up to it. He kept trying with Alex when the senior proved time and time again that he couldn’t be relied on. He kept hurting Cody and if he had a chance, Tomas would give him a piece of his mind. “Why do you keep letting him string you along? I mean, he’s nice one week and then he ignores you for how long?” He knew he sounded kind of harsh at the moment. But, he was tired of seeing his best friend hurt. He was pretty positive that if Daniel knew the full extent of everything that’d gone on between Alex and Cody that Alex would’ve been in the hospital already. But, as far as Daniel knew Alex and Cody had only ever been just friends.tag;; Cody word count;; ooc;;

I'm strong on the surface, not all the way through...
...I've never been perfect, but neither have you. He could have predicted Tomas’s reaction to his news of seeing Alex. Tomas didn’t like him so much, just because he’d seen Cody upset too many times because of him. He took another bite of the ice cream before saying, “I’m not anymore…I’m done.” Well he wasn’t completely writing Alex off, but Tomas didn’t know that…yet. “That’s why I gave him my number. I’m tired of chasing him around.” Cody then went to recount the meeting between him and Alex. He quoted word for what Alex had asked him after stating how annoying he was. It had hurt him more than Alex avoiding him; because when Alex was avoiding him, he’d not been so sure what was going on. He’d thought maybe he’d done something wrong or something…but, that had been the first time Alex had more-or-less actually told him to piss off. He smiled sadly again before looking down at the nearly-gone ice cream. He just sat there staring at the TV for a few minutes, not really wanting to talk about it anymore. He cleared his throat before saying, “Anyway…what’s been up with you? Surely you’ve been better than I’ve been lately.” He felt really odd knowing it’d been a long while since he and Tomas had talked. He felt like there was so much to catch up on. Even the best fall down sometime…
…Even the wrong words seem to rhyme. Tomas listened quietly, eating his ice cream as Cody talked. His friend sounded as if he’d not really talked to anyone about it. He could tell from the detailed way he spoke. Plus, he knew that Cody didn’t like going into details about things that bothered him with very many people. Cody was well known for being happy and bubbly all the time, but he wasn’t always as happy as he led others to believe. He was too worried about other people being happy to “burden” others with his issues, as he put it to Tomas one time. Tomas was glad to hear Cody was putting distance in-between himself and Alex. He hoped Cody would end up letting it go, because part of him doubted Alex would ever call. Tomas sighed softly when Cody changed the subject but smiled slightly and said, “Yeah, I guess you could say that. I made a new friend the other day.” He shrugged a bit before eating a sthingyful of his ice cream. He prepared himself for Cody’s reaction, since he knew the other boy knew that Tomas didn’t make friends too easily.tag;; Cody word count;; idk, 2 lazy 2 look ooc;;

I'm strong on the surface, not all the way through...
...I've never been perfect, but neither have you. Cody was expecting his best friend to say that nothing much had happened; because usually that was how he replied. Tomas tended to stick to himself, and it saddened Cody at times and confused him a bit as well. He couldn’t believe that the shy guy who could barely stutter out a sentence in class was the same guy who’d talk with him until early hours of the morning. But, what he heard instead was that Tomas had made a new friend. Cody nearly choked on the last bit of ice cream he’d just put into his mouth. He covered his mouth as he looked over at the brunette with wide eyes. After swallowing the ice cream he dropped his hand. “You…made a new friend?” He smiled brightly before putting the empty thing of ice cream and the sthingy aside. “Who? Do I know them? Is this person nice? Of course they are…otherwise you’d not befriend them.” Cody was always really happy when Tomas made a new friend. He liked seeing his best friend hanging out with other people and opening up a bit. The boy needed friends…everyone did, really. But, it’d always been harder for Tomas. Cody’d seen him struggle with making friends many times. That was something he didn’t understand. But, he didn’t have an issue with people like Tomas did. Cody had always been a people person. So, it often surprised people to find out that Tomas, one of the most withdrawn people in the school, was his best friend. tag;; tomi word count;; 253 ooc;;

Even the best fall down sometime…
…Even the wrong words seem to rhyme. He smiled slightly as he poked at the melting ice cream that was resting on his knee, all the while Cody was energetically asking questions. Tomas had known that reaction was coming. After being friends with Cody for so long, he’d gotten really good at predicting his reactions. The only one that threw him off was his reactions to Alex. That threw him like no other; he didn’t get at all why Cody liked the guy. But, then, he guessed he didn’t really have to. After all, it was Cody who liked Alex, not Tomas. “Her name is Alice Rooney; we’ve got music together,” he said with a small shrug. “We were both early for class the other day and started talking. He laughed slightly as he bent forward to put the ice cream on the table. He opened the box of pizza and grabbed one for Cody handing it to the other boy before getting one for himself. “It was more like she talked and I acted like an idiot at first, though. But, right around the time class started I’d opened up enough that I could speak a full sentence without sounding like…well, like I usually do when I talk to people I don’t know.” Tomas nearly laughed out loud at the thought of what some of the students in the school that knew him would do or say if they’d somehow gotten the chance to witness one of their movie nights. Tomas could talk freely for hours whenever he was hanging out with Cody; it’d always been that way. Cody had been the first person outside the Hartmans that he met after moving in with his family. The two boys who were pretty opposite in personalities just clicked instantly. Cody seemed to make Tomas open up a bit more, and Tomas seemed to calm down Cody…a little at least.tag;; Cody word count;; 312 ooc;; whoa, kinda rambled a bit... not that u really care

I'm strong on the surface, not all the way through...
...I've never been perfect, but neither have you. Cody smiled while biting his lip slightly as he listened to Tomas talk about his new friend. He was quite ecstatic at the fact that his friend had started to open up to someone that wasn’t him. He was quite used to hearing Tomas talk almost as much as he did; but, he also knew it was only with him really. Cody accepted the pizza Tomas handed him as the other boy talked. He hoped that this girl…this Alice was someone who’d get him to open up a bit more. Cody loved Tomas like a brother, and he wanted the other boy to be as happy as possible. It always saddened him to see Tomas sitting around the school all by himself or reacting badly when someone did try to approach him. “Aww…Tomi, I’m so proud of you,” he said as he lowered the pizza he held in his hand, letting his arm rest on his leg. He sniffled dramatically before wiping at an imaginary tear and saying, “You’re growing up so fast.” He smiled in the childish way he’d perfected from a young age that had always worked in getting him out of trouble before laughing a bit and taking another bite of the pizza. “Mm…” he mumbled, pressing his hand against his mouth. He finished chewing and swallowing the pizza before saying, “Just curious, but did you do the whole stuttering and stumbling over your words thing or the whole trying to speak but failing at words thing happen? Or an epic fail with both?” Cody often teased Tomas about his shyness, but he never meant anything by it. He knew it was something that the other boy couldn’t control, like with Cody’s overly-bubbly personality. He also knew the teasing didn’t come without a price. Cody was teased just as much, so it all evened out in the end. tag;; tomi word count;; 311 ooc;; 'sokay. i did it too ^^
