Mia sighed as she walked into the entrance hall, glancing around briefly. Her eyes glossed over the scene. It was empty, she was here before anyone else. Of course she was, Mia was always early. That way, she could study and evaluate others before they came over, started a conversation and evaluated her. Empty, and all-together pretty unimpressive, at least it was warm. One thing Mia definitely hated about New York? The weather. Why couldn't it be summer all the time? Mia sighed. She didn't know. All she knew is that if there was to be a climate change like that, boy would some animal species be in trouble. Not to mention New York itself!
Get your mind out of the Bio book, Mia, she told herself as she unzipped her black Northface jacket. Underneath was a black Juicy zip-up hoodie to match her black Juicy pants. Both were made of velvet. Hidden by the jacket was a large butterfly with the juicy logo. On the butt of the pants was the calligraphed print of "Juicy". The butterfly and the "Juicy" print were both in white. The bottom of her pants were neatly put into black Uggs. Her hair was down and slightly curly today, a white headband not exactly doing it's job, but however plopped there for an accesory. Usually Mia would have her hair up in a pony tail, but this was her first day at Larkin, and that called for a special occasion. Her lips were glossed, her eyes outlined and gently shadowed, and she was ready for her first day of school.
She walked over to the wall and leaned against it. She dug into her black leather Juicy velor bag and fished out two things; her lime-green-cased iTouch and her Cherry-Chocolate phone. She put one earbud in and turned her songs on shuffle. The first song to come on was "Swing" by Savage, one of Mia's favorite club-dancing songs. She couldn't help but smile as she slipped her iTouch into the front pocket of her zip-up, and brought her Chocolate to life, sliding it open. She had a text from her father, and one from each of her three brothers. Each of them were asking how she was and how the school was in their own special way.
Dad's was: Hi honey. Did u get 2 school OK? How is it? Mia sighed and shook her head. Any normal parent would have accompanied their child to their first day of boarding school. But not Mia's Daddy. Daddy dearest was working on his new roll as one of the fathers in the broadway production "Mamma Mia". She quickly responded: Just got 2 skool. its ok but i havent met any1 yet, class didnt start yet.
Sampson's was: Hey Mi hows da new skool? any hott grls u can hook me up wit? This made Mia smile. Even though her youngest-older-brother went straight to asking about the female population, she knew he was only joking. Sam already had a girlfriend, and they were getting pretty serious. But, the original the "player" of the family, he probably knew Mia would be expecting a comment like that. So Mia replied: hey sam. havent met any yet. ill txt u as soon as i see 1. tell licia i said hi. Licia was Sampson's girlfriend.
Teddy's was: hey sis. hows the new skool? did dad drop u off or were u taken by harold? Harold was the family's chauffer. Mia was able to reply quickly to this one: hey ted. skools good so far...class hasn't started yet! and harold drove me, dad's at rehearsal.
And finally, Riley's was: heyyy lil' sis! how's skool b4 class? is it filled with snobs and bitches? have u had da food yet? fill me in as soon as you get this. n remember, cuttins healthy 1nc n a wile. hop a bus/train to astoria sometime, k?? Mia smiled at Riley's text. He was always her favorite brother. Well, not her favorite, but the one she could always go to and talk with, and the one who got her into all the nice clunbs! Mia replied: hey bro. this skool is mad shnazzy. havent met any1 yet so no snobs/bitches sited. havent tried the food, hopefully doesnt kill me. ill c u asap, i want 2 get da teachers 2 lyk me 1st.
She pressed 'SEND' on her last text and sighed. Now all she had to do was wait. Wait for someone to come in, or for first period to start. What did she even have first period. She lifted her bag onto a little table with some flowers on it and began to sift through her bag. Hopefully, she would find her schedule before it was too late...
