And I don’t want the world to see me…
…Cause I don’t think that they’d understand. Alex set down on the steps of the Met with a sigh. He was a pretty early to meet Lina, but he couldn’t take sitting at that coffee shop any longer. He subconsciously pulled on the sleeve of his hoodie, which was covering the phone number sprawled on his arm in black sharpie. He then pulled out his sketchbook from his bag and started flipping through it to find a blank page. He grabbed his charcoal pencil out of his bag as well and began drawing. His dark hair fell in front of his face, blocking it from view as he bent down slightly as he worked. He stopped drawing when he realized who he was drawing. He sighed and straightened up, setting the pencil down on the sketchbook. A part of him was screaming that he’d fucked up; but, a bigger part of him was ecstatic that he wouldn’t have to worry about avoiding Cody anymore. Cody would be avoiding him…
It had been what he wanted though. So he was happy…or he should’ve been happy. Alex hated leaving anything he drew unfinished, so he picked up the pencil and started working on the sketch again, at least until Lina got there. He hoped she’d be there soon, he needed a distraction. Of course, his drawing wasn’t helping too much. But that stupid nagging he had to not leave a drawing unfinished made him finish it. It was a really rough sketch, and he could’ve taken longer on it. But, he finished it, which meant he could move on. He glanced up from the notebook and saw Lina there. “Hey,”[/b] he said, trying to smile believably.[/size] tag;; Lina word count;; 277 ooc;;

Clicky?Lina had ran to grab a coffee before going to The Met. And now she was almost late. Lina cursed under her breath, and ran as fast as she could without spilling the coffee. When Lina got there, she saw Alex immediately. He was drawing. Lina approached him slowly, and watched as he drew. He looked up and greeted her. He was really bad a fake smiles though.
"Hi," She said. "Something wrong?"

And I don’t want the world to see me…
…Cause I don’t think that they’d understand. Alex gave up trying to smile. He’d always been terrible at faking smiles. He didn’t even know why he tried. He didn’t know whether or not to tell Lina about what was bothering him. He didn’t really know her…and he never talked about his problems anyway. That was too much like depending on someone. But, then, he’d probably feel a bit better after talking about it; and, he’d do better at the project if he could actually concentrate on it. He knew he wouldn’t be able to at that moment. “Yeah…no…I don’t know,” he said finishing with a sigh. He shrugged and then said, “I think I messed up; and, I don’t…I don’t know what to do anymore.” Nothing was as simple as it seemed anymore, and Alex…well, he was a little scared. Because, he was sure he could tell Lina about what was going on and she could tell him straight up that things were actually quite simple. But, the wall he created around himself kept things from being as simple as they could be.tag;; Lina word count;; ooc;;

Lina raised an Eyebrow and sat down next to him."What did you mess up? It can't be that bad. Unless your a crazy serial killer. And if that's the case..." Lina inched away teasingly. She grinned at him, and set her coffee down next to her. "But seriously, What did you do?"Notes: Sorry for the shortness

And I don’t want the world to see me…
…Cause I don’t think that they’d understand. “Uhm…well, remember that person I said I was avoiding? Well, I kind of ran into him today,” he replied. He laughed slightly before saying, “Well, it was more like he cornered me. But, I think…I think I really hurt him this time.” Alex glanced down at the sketch he’d made as he remembered the sad smile Cody had back at the coffee shop. He’d been pushing the younger boy away for a long time, but Cody hadn’t ever given up. And, Cody hadn’t ever had that hurt, defeated look in his eyes as he had when he left the coffee shop earlier. It all seemed confusing to Alex. He knew he wasn’t good enough to even be Cody’s friend. He couldn’t let Cody close to him…he couldn’t be what Cody wanted. He didn’t let people close and he didn’t do relationships…or friendships really. He hated the thought of having to depend on anyone.tag;; Lina word count;; ooc;; all is good ^^

Lina bit her bottom lip. "Um, I'm a lousy advice giver, but I think there is a tiny solution to your problem. But you might not like it."She gave him a look that said, 'Stop me now before I say something stupid.' When he didn't say anything, she continued. "I think, that maybe... If you really hurt him... And your sorry for it. You should tell him."
And this is why Lina would never ever give advice again. Wait, when did this become a pourquoi tale?
Notes: Pourquoi Tales are AWESOME. I have to write one about Why tigers have stripes. I named my tiger Jicomo!

And I don’t want the world to see me…
…Cause I don’t think that they’d understand. Alex listened as she told him that he probably wouldn’t like what she had to say. But, he didn’t say anything and then she continued speaking. Talk to him…apologize? He wasn’t good at that. He wasn’t good at being a friend either. “Yeah…uhm…maybe…” he said softly. He picked up the pencil he’d sat down on the sketch book and set it aside. He then turned the page to a blank one. He smiled slightly at her and said, “Uhm…I’m sure you’ve got better things to do than sit around with me; so, we should probably start on this.” He hoped he didn’t sound like he didn’t want her around or something; because that’s not what he meant at all. That was just how he went around subject s he didn’t really want to talk about. He avoided them. It wasn’t necessarily the best way to handle things; but, it’d worked for him so far…well, kind of.tag;; lina word count;; ooc;; all is good ^^

Lina laughed. If she wasn't here, she'd probably back in her dorm, asleep. "I agree, we should start. But the funny thing is, I don't have anything better to do." Lina didn't press the subject of appologizing. But she noticed how fast he changed the subject. She shrugged that off.
"So... should I just sit here... Or what?" She asked, grinning at him.

And I don’t want the world to see me…
…Cause I don’t think that they’d understand. He smiled slightly when she laughed. He was relieved that she didn’t seem to think he was being rude or anything. He may have not always been the nicest person; but, in his view, she deserved his respect, at least, for agreeing to help him when she didn’t even really know him. "So... should I just sit here... Or what?" Alex smiled back and said, “Uh, yeah. Right there’s perfect actually.” He didn’t really get the point behind the assignment. But, he never questioned the work, he just did it. He’d learned from experience to not question his teacher’s motives. He got a F on an assignment once for doing so, and since then has learned to hold his tongue when he thought teacher’s were being stupid with the assignment requirements.tag;; lina word count;; idk, but it's short... ooc;;

Lina grinned at him. "Okie Dokie!" Lina wasn't the best at sitting still. And she knew she'd have to stay where she was for a while. Lina grabbed her bag and dug throuh it. Finally, pulling out her Ipod, Lina shut her bag and dropped it in front of her. "Sorry. This will help me stay still."
Lina hoped he didn't mind. It was this or a book. And Lina forgot to bring a book. So she just had an Ipod. Goody.
