I'm just a little girl you see But there's a hell of a lot more to me Don't ever underestimate what I can do Don't ever tell me how I'm meant to be
----- Jasmine had always thought that it was stupid when people said that high school was the best time of your life. Since starting Larkin Academy, she had only grown more confident that she was right. People here were evil. So she was hiding from them. In the art room.
Jasmine was supposed to be doing study hall in the library, but these two girls that hated her where in there, and she'd heard them saying all these horrible things about a girl that they acted like they were friends with, so she really didn't want to listen to what they had to say about her..
Jasmine had always been fairly self confident, and pretty good at ignoring what other people said about her, but... here, girls were absolutely amazing at making you feel tiny and worthless. Jasmine was beginning to understand why everyone here acted the way they did. Maybe they weren't all horrible people, but the ones that were horrible scared the hell out of everyone else until they just did what was expected of them to avoid humiliation.
Jasmine sighed, and laid her head down on her open art history book. Lately, she'd almost wanted to just go to her mom's apartment and tell her that she wanted to go home, back to Seattle, where she had friends, and where everyone didn't hate her. She couldn't do that, though. This was an amazing school. She didn't have any chance of getting into another school that compared at all. This scholarship was a miracle for her, she couldn't just give it up.
Jasmine heard the door to the art room open, and raised her head quickly, making sure it wasn't one of the girls from the library. It wasn't, but she didn't know who it was.

And I don’t want the world to see me…
…Cause I don’t think that they’d understand. Alex walked through the hallway quickly to avoid any confrontation. He had a free period that hour and decided to head to the art room. He spent a lot of time in there, hiding from the world. He found it easy to escape reality when drawing or taking pictures. He was a self-proclaimed camera whore and loved taking pictures. Whenever he’d get bored, he’d get all dressed up, grab his camera, and go somewhere to take hundreds of pictures. He wasted many days away like that. But, it was better than what he could’ve been doing. He could’ve found one of his old friends and hung out with them, letting himself fall back into the person he didn’t want to be again. Of course, he wasn’t too sure how well he liked the person he was at that time, either. But, he wouldn’t admit it to anyone. As far as the world knew, Alex Jayden Thomas was exactly who he wanted to be.
A smile graced his features when he spotted the art room. He went into the art room, feeling as the day could end up being great. However, he stopped when he saw that there was someone else in there. The girl was blond and pretty small. Alex didn’t think he’d seen her around. She seemed a bit younger, a freshman or a sophomore he guessed. He brushed his dark hair out of his eyes as he studied her for a few seconds before walking over to one of the tables that had a pile of artwork on it. He dug through it until he found his project and pulled out of the stack. He took it over to an empty table and sat it down before going to the cabinet that contained the drawing media. He grabbed a set of charcoal pencils and took it to the table. He pulled out the pencil of his choice and began drawing before saying, “Are you a freshman?”tag;; jasmine/open word count;; 346 ooc;;

----- Jasmine smiled slightly at the boy who entered the room. Kind cute, but.. not her type. Too bad. She nodded, before asking, "And you're... older? Senior? She wasn't quite sure, but she thought that she'd seen him before, at one of the senior classes or something. Jasmine didn't know.
Jasmine looked back down at her book, sighed, and closed it. She'd rather draw, than try and decipher the joys of the artwork of the pre-Revolutionary French. She reached under her chair, where her large black and white bag was sitting. She pulled out her sketchbook, and a mechanical pencil, and started shading the sketch she'd been working on in Math.
After a minute of working in silence, she looked back up at the guy who'd come in. "I'm Jasmine. What's your name?"

…Cause I don’t think that they’d understand. He smirked a bit when she nodded at his question. “Worst year of my life,” he responded softly, more to himself than to her. “Yeah, I’m a senior.” He worked on his assignment, biting his lip slightly in concentration. He blew his hair out of his face as the girl stated her name. He glanced over at her before looking back at the drawing. “Alex.” He wasn’t much of a conversationalist, or a people person really. He tended to keep his talking short and to the point, especially if he didn’t really know the person (which was the majority of the school). He didn’t really like silence, though. It gave his mind too much time to wander, which for him was never good. A straying mind usually ended on thoughts of calling up his old dealer or something. He’d done really well of not doing so over the past few days, even though he really really wanted to. But, thoughts of his niece kept him from doing so. “Skipping class?” he asked her, knowing for a fact there wasn’t an art class in that room at that hour.tag;; jasmine/open word count;; M'not sure ooc;;

----- 'Uunsurprised' would be a good word to describe Jasmine when the boy said something about 'worst year of his life'. She was under the impression that starting high school was required to be awful. Maybe high school overall was supposed to suck. She didn't know yet. Maybe it got better.
Jasmine smiled at Alex. "Well, it's nice to meet you then, Alex." Jasmine wasn't overly fond of silence herself. She was almost always humming or tapping her fingers or mumbling the words to a song or something. Her dorm was always filled with music, usually one song on repeat for a couple of days at a time. Currently, the song in her head was 'She Ran' by Amy Studt. It was just an amazing song in her opinion, and she hadn't been able to get it out of her head for the past week. Jasmine smirked when Alex asked if she was skipping. "Mmm, sort of. Does ditching study hall actually count as skipping?"

…Cause I don’t think that they’d understand. He laughed a bit at her question and said, “Well, some would; but, I wouldn’t. Study hall isn’t much of a class.” He didn’t really get the point of study hall. Nobody actually used it to do studying, unless they were one of the academic students. Even some of them didn’t use study hall as time to study. It was more of a gossip spreading time. Alex hated gossip and refused to spread it. He avoided The Note and didn’t have any desire at all to write something on it. He could care less who loved who for the time being. There were more important things…like…well, anything really, at least in Alex’s opinion. “So, what do you think of the school so far?” He was always pretty interested in hearing different student’s reactions to their first year. He could barely remember his from being so doped up all the time; but, he could clearly remember ODing and being in the hospital before his parents sent him off to rehab. In his opinion…his mother needed that place more than he did.tag;; jasmine/open word count;; M'not sure ooc;;
