I don't believe in miracles I never did...
...I don´t believe in fairytales, too cynical. Daniel didn’t really like weekends. Family dinners were painful and he hated having to stay at his parents. It was part of the arrangement they made though. The only good thing was that Cody was stuck there as well. Unless, of course, they made plans with their friends; which they tried to do as much as possible. The guitarist was bored as he sat down at his desk and turned on his computer. He turned on his radio, playing whatever CD was in there at the time. He smiled slightly as music from some German band spilled from the speakers. Daniel hoped that they got to visit Germany again soon. In his boredom, he pulled up the internet and just started looking around. He checked his twin’s blog sight and frowned a bit, not quite sure what all was going on in the younger boy’s life at the moment. He continued searching through different blog sites he had bookmarked. He saw that ‘Z’ had blogged again and brought up the page. He read it over once before shouting, “Hey, Kid, get in here!” He was almost completely positive Cody was in his room across the hall. When they were stuck at their house, they tended to hide in their rooms from their parents.tag;; Cody word count;; 213 ooc;;

I'm strong on the surface, not all the way through...
...I've never been perfect, but neither have you. Cody walked into his bedroom just as Daniel started playing music in his room. It was a CD that his twin had gotten on one of their trips to Germany. He was just glad it wasn’t any of that rap crap that the older boy was prone to listen to. Cody hummed along softly as he walked over to the vanity set up in the corner of his room to straighten his hair having just showered and blow-dried his hair. He smiled slightly when he finished and then grabbed his eyeliner to put some on. He continued humming along with the familiar song that was barely coming into the room as he bent forward to better see in the mirror as he skillfully applied the eyeliner. “Hey, Kid, get in here!” Cody jumped at the sudden shouting coming from his brother’s room, and he accidently poked himself in the eye with the eyeliner pencil. “Ah, fuck!” Cody exclaimed as he dropped it. He blinked a few times, before he got up and went out into the hall.
He entered Daniel’s room in a huff. “You made me poke my eye, asshole. What d’you want?” He walked over and grabbed the chair sitting in the corner of the room before moving it next to Daniel. He sat down and looked at the computer screen. “Seer? Really? Lee, you read this?” He couldn’t help but laugh a bit, not thinking his twin had ever been one for gossip. He didn’t often read the gossip blogs, but would every now and then. But, he knew that since Daniel had called him in there after reading it there had to have been something of importance or at least of amusement on it. He read it over and laughed a bit. “A girlfriend? Seriously? I’ve never had a girlfriend in my life…and who the hell is ‘Jackie’?” tag;; Lee XP word count;; 312 ooc;;

...I don´t believe in fairytales, too cynical. He laughed a bit when Cody said he’d made his twin poke himself in the eye with his eyeliner. Then he cleared his throat and mumbled a sorry as Cody sat down in the chair next to him. Daniel sighed when he heard Cody call him “Lee”…again. “What’d I say about calling me that?” he asked as he crossed his arms. “And, yeah; I read it when I get bored. But, I guess it’s good I do. I learn more about you every time.” He smiled a bit at the look of amusement that crossed the younger boy’s face. Daniel had figured Cody’d find the bit about him having a girlfriend amusing. He shrugged when Cody asked who Jackie was. He honestly didn’t know. He didn’t think either of them knew a Jackie. “That’s not really what I wanted to talk about, though.” He pointed back at the screen to one name in the group. “I thought you and Alex were just friends.” He wanted to hear what Cody had to say about it. Sure, it was just a rumor; but, all rumors came with a grain of truth. And, Daniel knew for sure the whole girlfriend aspect of it wasn’t true…so what was? True, he could’ve just been hanging out with Alex as friends and the person took it wrong; but, he wanted to know for sure. But, mostly he wanted to know if this Alex guy was the reason Cody had been in a funk lately. Because no good would come if he was. Daniel never took someone hurting his brother too kindly.tag;; Kid XP word count;; 265 ooc;;

I'm strong on the surface, not all the way through...
...I've never been perfect, but neither have you. A smirk crossed Cody’s face when Daniel got irritated about being called by his middle name. Daniel called him “Kid” all the time so all was fair in Cody’s eyes. He sighed and rolled his eyes when the older boy asked about Alex. “We are just friends,” Cody answered in all honesty. Because he and Alex were just friends…if even that. He wasn’t even sure if they could be considered friends. He absentmindedly felt for his phone in his pocket, even when he knew that Alex hadn’t called. Cody smirked as he pointed at the screen. “A freshman, Lee? Who’s the freshman? Do I know her?” He purposely and skillfully changed the subject. He wanted to know who ‘Z’ thought that his brother was seeing. Surely Daniel would have told him if he was seeing someone. He was 99.9% positive that whoever the girl was that he was seen hanging out with was just a friend. He and Daniel told each other almost everything; but, he hated the thought that the older boy would be keeping something like that from him. The only reason he’d not told his brother anything about his messed up relationship with Alex was because he knew Daniel would get pissed and go beat the shit out of the older boy without a second thought. And even though Alex had hurt him, and confused him, and could be a complete jerk…Cody didn’t want that to happen. tag;; Lee XP word count;; ooc;;

...I don´t believe in fairytales, too cynical. Daniel frowned a bit when Cody sighed and rolled his eyes at the mention of Alex. He wasn’t even sure he liked the idea of Cody being friends with that guy. But Alex hadn’t ever done anything to Cody. Daniel knew the guy used to do drugs and (so he said) was clean. He, like most everyone else in the school, knew of the older boy’s OD a few years before. But, those were all in his past and not anything Daniel felt he could hold over the guy’s head…for the time being. Daniel raised an eyebrow when Cody smirked and pointed at the screen. Cody smirking was never a good sign. “A freshman, Lee? Who’s the freshman? Do I know her?” Daniel had to stop and think about it for a few seconds before saying, “Oh…” He’d only just then realized who ‘Z’ must’ve been talking about. “I spent some time hanging out with your friend Jasmine at the park the other day. Must be what they’re talking about.” He shrugged a bit. The gossip blogs tended to put their own twists on a lot of things, making it seem like there were things going on that weren’t. But, all gossip did that. He looked at the computer screen again and couldn’t help but laugh a bit. “A girlfriend, huh? Well, I guess you can tell dad you’re calling off your search for “the one” now, can’t you?”tag;; Kid word count;; 265 ooc;;

...I've never been perfect, but neither have you. Cody kept a neutral expression on his face as Daniel explained that he’d been hanging out with Jasmine. He didn’t really care that he had, but usually his brother always had something negative to say about Cody’s friends. He’d yet to hear one about her. He tapped his fingers on the desk, his long, manicured nails making a soft clicking noise on the surface. “A girlfriend, huh? Well, I guess you can tell dad you’re calling off your search for “the one” now, can’t you?” Cody gasped and stopped tapping his fingers on the desk before looking over at his older brother. “Shut up, it’s not funny!” he replied as he punched the other boy in the arm. He knew it wouldn’t hurt the other boy too much, but Cody didn’t really want to hurt him anyway. He thought about it for a second before smiling a bit. “Well the whole idea of me having a girlfriend is pretty funny…but not the whole dad thing.” Cody looked at the screen again and fidgeted in the seat, messing with the cell phone in his pocket. He really hated lying to their parents, even if he didn’t really get along with them. He didn’t really like lying in general. And he wasn’t lying to Daniel about anything. He was just not telling his twin everything. “So, d’you want to call the Idiots over later and watch movies or something?” Cody often referred to two mutual friends of theirs as the “Idiots”. They’d been friends with those two boys since they were little and refused to travel anywhere without them. What fun would it be to go travelling like that without your best friends? ...I don´t believe in fairytales, too cynical. “Hey!” Daniel exclaimed, rubbing his arm after Cody hit him. It hadn’t really hurt, but honestly not the point. He chuckled a bit when Cody laughed. Honestly, the younger boy’s smile and laughter was quite contagious. He was pretty sure that Cody’s smile could make anyone smile no matter how cold and cruel they were. It always got him out of trouble when they were little. “So, d’you want to call the Idiots over later and watch movies or something?” Daniel thought about it for a few seconds, glancing back at the computer screen before looking back at Cody. “Not really. I feel like we’ve not talked in a while, just the two of us.” He felt like Cody was keeping something from him and he didn’t like that feeling at all. In fact, he knew Cody was keeping something from him. He’d seen his twin going around looking depressed lately, and he wanted to know why. He hated seeing Cody upset. It was even worse when he didn’t know why because then he didn’t know how, or if he could, help. “So, what’s been up with you…honestly? Don’t even say that it’s nothing because I’ve had quite a few of your friends asking me what’s gotten you into a funk.” He raised his eyebrow as he leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms and spinning in it to look directly at the slightly younger boy. He knew Cody hated lying to him, and so he knew that just directly asking him what was going on was the only way to figure it out. With hinting, Cody could easily figure out a way of getting out of talking about it.tag;; Kid word count;; 281 ooc;;

...I've never been perfect, but neither have you. The younger boy just stuck his tongue out at his older brother’s exclamation. His smile faltered a bit when Daniel stated he felt that they hadn’t talked in a while. He was about to ask what the other boy wanted to talk about, but Daniel saved him from asking by asking a question of his own. He shrugged a bit and said, “Oh, you know, this and that. Dad’s really been harping on me lately and that really wears me thin. Then there’s classes and the like. D’you know that Tomas made a new friend the other day?” Cody smiled at his twin, proud that he’d successfully answered the question without being too specific. He was quite good at it actually. “He told me about it when we had our movie night. Of course, we never watch many movies, as you well know. You should join us sometime…but, you’re probably too busy babying your guitar or your car.” He finished speaking with a small smirk as he crossed his arms and reclined back in the chair he occupied. He knew quite well that his last comment would irritate his twin. Sometimes it was nice to know which buttons to push with someone. tag;; Lee word count;; ooc;;

I don't believe in miracles I never did...
...I don´t believe in fairytales, too cynical. Daniel tapped his fingers on his arm, keeping them crossed over his chest as he looked at Cody. Perhaps he’d been a bit too vague in his question to the other boy. He should’ve known Cody would’ve avoided anything he didn’t really want to talk about; and, those were the things Daniel wanted to know. Because Cody was a really open person, not really caring who knew what about him. But, when the other boy started not telling Daniel something, it pretty much told him that his twin was trying to protect someone from his anger. Which also meant, that someone had done something worthy of Daniel getting mad over. And stringing all of that together made him want to know all the more what was up with his twin. “…babying your guitar or your car.” Daniel opened his mouth to re-word his question, but stopped when Cody’s final statement sunk in. “Cody, I do not baby them,” he said firmly. “Treating them with the utmost respect and caution is not babying them.” Daniel knew he did baby his most valued items a bit…but, still… Well, maybe more than a bit. The only people allowed to touch his guitar was his and Cody’s long-time friend; and, that was just because he was a bass guitarist and knew how to respectfully handle someone else’s guitar. Cody wasn’t allowed to touch it...ever. He might let other’s touch it; but, they’d have to be really important to him. It’d almost be like letting someone borrow one of his hats…he didn’t let just anyone borrow his hats. In fact, Cody was the only one allowed to do that at the time; and, it was only certain ones at that. There were some of the hats that were just off limits. Daniel sighed and said, “Anyway…what’s going on in your personal life that’s so “fucked up” and making you feel “shitty”?” He purposely asked the questions using direct quotes from his twin’s latest blog entry. Cody may have been good at avoiding answering questions; but, Daniel was good at making them quite difficult for the other boy to escape from.tag;; Kid word count;; 355 ooc;; the words...they wouldn't stop coming... i blame you for giving me sugar

...I've never been perfect, but neither have you. Cody smiled at Daniel’s reaction to his statement. He knew it was coming. “Treating them with the utmost respect and caution is not babying them.” Cody just shrugged and grabbed one of the stray hats Daniel had on his desk, tugging it on over his flat-ironed hair. “Whatever you say, Lee,” he replied. Cody started tapping his fingers on the desk again as he sighed inaudibly. “Anyway…what’s going on in your personal life that’s so “fucked up” and making you feel “shitty”?” Cody blanched a bit at the question and stumbled over some incoherent syllables as he tried to think of the best way to answer. “Uhm, well I was…there was this guy…and we weren’t really seeing each other, but we kind of were at one point…but it wasn’t exclusive or anything. I’m just…it just….it’s kind of confusing and messed up right now.” Cody sighed loudly and looked at his twin. He knew Daniel was just asking because he was being his usual annoyingly protective self. “Look, before you get all ‘big brother’ on me, please, don’t make a big deal out of this. It’s not really…okay, it kind of is. But, it just…if things are meant to straighten out…they will.” Cody hoped his answer was good enough for Daniel, because he honestly didn’t want to talk about it anymore.
