Lina looked up from her desk. He was referring to his drawing. Lina looked at it for a minute. It was good. Lina grinned at him. "It's great. It's above and beyond the desk drawings." She said, tapping her pencil against her desk.
She pushed back her hair, and looked more closely at Alex's drawing.

And I don’t want the world to see me…
…Cause I don’t think that they’d understand. He smiled a bit at her compliment, feeling it boost his ego. Not that he really needed the ego boost. He was pretty cocky and confident anyway. He smiled and pulled the pencil out from behind his ear to sign his name in the bottom corner. His untidy scrawl almost blended in to the picture to where it was barely noticeable. "Thanks, by the way...for the compliment," he said as he put the pencil back behind his ear. He looked shocked for a second at the fact that he'd just thanked someone; then, he shrugged it off as to him being surrounded by overly sweet people too much.tag;; lina word count;; idk ^^ ooc;;

Lina watched as he scrawled his name onto the picture. She never payed much attention to the other people in the class, and she wondered if they all could draw like Alex. "You're welcome."She smiled at him.
She bit down on her eraser, and looked up at him. He didn't look like the person who talked much.

And I don’t want the world to see me…
…Cause I don’t think that they’d understand. Alex looked over his picture one last time, making sure it was good enough to turn in. It wasn't up to his usual standards, but he didn't care so much for that class. The teacher was not his favorite one, so he could honestly care less what the creepy toad-like man thought. He grabbed the drawing and stood up to hand it in to the teacher who was still perched behind his desk. Alex smirked slightly at the mental image of the teacher hopping up on the desk and catching flys. After turning in the drawing, he returned to the seat across from Lina and sat down. He flicked his hair out of his face again before digging in his bag for his camera. He might as well clean out his memory card while he had time.
He had hundreds of photos on his camera, but didn't like over half of them. He knew the memory card was running low on space, so he had to get rid of some. As he searched through the photos, he glanced up at Lina. Alex felt it was a bit awkward to sit there and not say anything to her. But, he didn't honestly know what to say. His eyes dropped to the camera again when he stopped on a picture from the year before. He frowned a bit before deleting the picture. It was of him and Cody, when they were in the friends-with-benifits stage. That was long since over, and Alex didn't want to be reminded of it. He'd been in the right to stop it. "So...uh...what do you think of our toad-like teacher?" he asked Lina, wanting to kill the silence.tag;; lina word count;; 298 ooc;;

Lina watched him hand in his paper, then shuffle throough his bag. He was deleting photos, when Lina decided to finish her stick figures. Doodling a mustache on one, Lina sighed. She couldn't wait until the class was over. Then she could dance.
Lina looked up when he spoke. With a grin on her face, she said,"The guy's a total creeper. I mean, He makes the spiders in my closet look pleasent." That was saying something for Lina. She hated spiders.

And I don’t want the world to see me…
…Cause I don’t think that they’d understand. He smiled slightly at her answer, looking down at his camera again. For showing up late the class seemed to have lasted a really long time. Alex wanted nothing more than for the class period to be over so he could sneak out behind the school and have a smoke. He grew more and more tempted every day he went back there to talk to his old friends, but something stopped him each time he started to. He shrugged it off, though, as him just not really wanting to get back into that shit. As Alex looked through his photos, he found one of him and his niece at the Met. He smiled slightly at the three-year-old in the picture. Seeing the Met reminded him of an assignment he had to do for one of his art classes. He glanced up at Lina again and said, "Uhm, I know you don't know me...and this may sound kind of odd; but, I'm supposed to draw a portrait of someone at the Met for my other art class by next week. Would you mind helping?" Alex didn't particularly like sketching people he didn't know too well. But, the only person he could think of that he really knew that would say yes was the one person he was trying to avoid.tag;; lina word count;; ooc;;

Lina raised an eyebrow at him. "Uh, sure, I guess." Lina said. She's been to the Met before. She's been inside it too. Lina knew a lot about it actually. But still, she was confused. Lina scribbled on her desk, deep in thought. She wrote in bubble letters; Bubbly Bubbles.

And I don’t want the world to see me…
…Cause I don’t think that they’d understand. Alex smiled a bit at the slightly confused expression on Lina's face. "I know it's odd...but, the person I'd usually ask...well, I'm kind of avoiding them," he said before looking down at the top of the well worn desk. He didn't usually talk about any of his issues with anyone, not even people he actually considered friends. And, he only had one or two of those. He felt like he'd not seen them in forever, though. He forced a smile before saying, "So, uhm...Saturday around one okay?" He still felt kind of odd asking Lina to help him with the project; but, he needed to draw someone. And, a part of him was hoping that possibly...maybe...there was a tiny chance he might get a friend out of it. Maybe one he wouldn't push away...tag;; lina word count;; ooc;;

Lina opened her mouth to ask who he was avoiding, but closed it. It wasn't her business. But had that ever stopped her before? Rarely. But Lina decided that she had enough people disliking her already, and Alex seemed like a nice guy. Lina spent a couple moments fighting with herself (And this is one of the many reasons why she belongs in an asylum ((Bella counted))), before deciding not to ask.
Lina smiled at him. "Okie Dokie. I'll meet you there at one." One was good for her, because she could sleep in! Huzzah! Lina realized she was overly hyper.
Notes: BA HA HA! I had so much fun writing this!

And I don’t want the world to see me…
…Cause I don’t think that they’d understand. He couldn't help but laugh a little at her word choice. She seemed a bit...energetic. He was glad that she agreed to help, though. It made his day a bit brighter. He had a feeling he'd really like working with her; and, plus it could be a chance for him to get to know the younger girl better. He smiled slightly when the bell finally rang. "Guess I'll see you around then," he said as he stood up and grabbed his bag. He wasn't going to say it out loud; but, he was honestly really glad that he'd met Lina.tag;; lina word count;; ooc;; i can tell ^^ i'll go ahead and start the thread @ the met
